Huge News! LARC is on the cover of today's LA Times.

LARC is advocating to fund Recovery Housing in California. Currently, California doesn’t allow state funds to support Recovery Residences, despite a large demand. Our Founder and Executive Director, Thea Golden, is speaking up and pushing for change. Read the article A call to include sober living in fight to end homelessness and check out why it matters for communities like ours.

Monthly Grief Circles:

LARC, in collaboration with the lukelove Foundation, is hosting monthly Grief Circles at LARC and for those in the unhoused community at DePaul’s Casa Milagrosa near MacArthur Park. Practicing radical hospitality, Casa Milagrosa provides a warm, welcoming refuge to people experiencing homelessness.

Financial Literacy:

Financial literacy is a huge part of maintaining recovery. Without control of their finances, people can get overwhelmed, off track, and fall back into continued use. In recognition of tax month this past April, Robin Foley taught the LARC residents and community members how to create a budget and stick to it. Who couldn’t use a refresher on that?

What is an RCO?
RCOs are peer-led Recovery Community Organizations offering residences (similar to sober livings) and supportive programming to those in recovery from SUD. RCOs provide a continuum of care so individuals can maintain their recovery once they complete SUD treatment.

Who is LA Recovery Connect?
LA Recovery Connect (LARC) is a thriving Recovery Community Organization (RCO) in South LA that provides a recovery residence for under-resourced women and supportive services for all individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD).

How is LARC unique?
LARC offers a low cost residence ($100 per wk) for women in recovery for up to two years– an unprecedented duration, especially in LA. All residents receive the benefit of a designated Recovery Coach (RC), who is a person that provides individualized support so people can maintain their recovery ie. helping with legal issues, supporting employment readiness, building life skills. The RC also provides supportive services for LARC's greater community who are in recovery and/or in family recovery from SUD.
